All Meters Now Accept Parking Cards

All of Haverford Township's parking meters have been upgraded.

All of the parking meters in Haverford Township are expected to be converted to accept parking cards in addition to money.

Haverford Township Police Department has been replacing the parking meters throughout the township over the past few months with new parking meters that accept a prepaid parking card and nickels, dimes, quarters and dollar coins.

Cards can be purchased at the Haverford Township Police Department, 1010 Darby Road in Havertown. The office is open 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.

There is a one-time fee of $5.00 for each card, according to police. You can return to add more money on the card as many times as needed (with a $100 limit for every refill). The new parking card allows the driver to retrieve any unused time on the meter back on the card, according to police.

All parking spaces in Haverford are metered except for the Oakmont and Brookline parking lots, which use parking kiosks, said Sgt. Shant Bedrossian. Bedrossian said the changeover was not in response to any particular request or incident, but rather just to upgrade.
