At the Haverford Rita's Water Ice, the freezers are packed, the staff is geared up for a day of free ice happiness.
Wednesday is the first day of spring and you know what that means... Free regular size water ice at every Rita's Water Ice-including the store at 55 West Eagle Road in Havertown. Tuesday night was the calm before the storm. As the sun set on the last night of winter a steady flow of customers streamed in. Wednesday will be a different story. Grace Woodock of Netwon Square is an Archbishop Carroll student by day, Rita's water ice of Haverford veteran by night. She's says it's all hands on deck Wednesday. She survived last year's First Day of Spring Free Water Ice promotion and says it's fun, but a little exhausting too.
