Dickens Festival Draws Thousands

Haverford Township residents come out to enjoy the world of "A Christmas Carol"

In 2009, as chilly temperatures mixed with blue skies on a lovely December Saturday afternoon, organizers in Narberth were looking at each other in wonderment, after all their top hats were gone and all their maps were swept up and all their mugs bought. What to do in 2010, when the weather might not be so fair? Lay in more stuff, evidently. Not enough top hats for kids who tracked down all the "A Christmas Carol" characters?  Introduce pins for the vets. More will come. And they did—even as the weather held up like a brass knocker. ­ Havertown resident Renee Grant, a member of the Narberth Community Theater, was not performing on Saturday, but she seemed perfectly at ease—in costume.
