Take a Ride on the Long and Chewed Up Road

Paving crews were working in the center of a long stretch of Eagle Road in Havertown for most of the day Thursday.

The orange cones were up for most of the work day on Eagle Road in Havertown as a paving crew worked on a long stretch of the road between Lawrence Road and West Chester Pike. It's been a long term utility project and now the much-anticipated resurfacing appears to be well underway. Click on the video clip and take a 4x fast forward ride through the construction zone in the cockpit of the Haverford Patchmobile.

Milling should have taken a day not a week not one pass a day with the miller. The road should have been repaved by now, just another example of havertownship poor infrastructure maintaince. The area by the WHY is unacceptable as well but is not going to be repaved.   more ›

FIX THE DAMN ROAD. Improve eagle rd: widen it, improve drainage, fix the traffic lights that cause backups and do not put a traffic light at hill crest. The Y is a mistake, and only has cost the township money without any return.   more ›

Are You Avoiding Eagle Road?

Construction will be taking place on the road through October.

With construction limiting lanes on N Eagle Road in Haverford, motorists may want to look for alternative ways through the township. To head north without taking Eagle Road, motorists have the option of staying on West Chester Pike westbound and turning left on to Lawrence Road to head north through the Haverford Area. Alternatively, divers could take West Chester Pike to Manoa Road, then turn left on Darby Road to catch Eagle north of the construction. Is the construction getting in your way? Do you alter your route to get around construction when you know about it? Tell us in the comments.
