Drivers Would Rather Do Taxes than Deal with Auto Repairs

A recent RepairPal survey revealed that drivers really hate dealing with mechanics, but there are a few simple ways to make the process a whole lot easier.

According to a recent RepairPal survey, half of the studied consumers said that they would rather do their taxes by hand than get their car repaired. All of this added anxiety of dealing with repair shops causes many consumers to wait as long as possible, which may in turn create more problems.

38 percent of consumers who own or lease a vehicle worry that they can not trust the mechanic. Additionally, 66 percent of drivers think that they have been ripped off by an auto body or auto repair shop.

Drivers should always have a Havertown auto body shop that they can trust. When it comes to collision repairs, you’ll have no choice but to call around to different local shops.

So, how can you make the process a whole lot less stressful?

First, always have an accident checklist in your car just in case. Determine which local auto body shops offer services that you need and take a look at local reviews too. Then keep a few shop phone numbers on your accident checklist.  That way you’ll already know a little about the shop so you’ll be prepared to make a decision.

If you do your research ahead of time, you'll be able to simplify the post-collision process. Find a shop that handles collisions, deals with insurance companies, offers rental cars, and repairs your vehicle.

Also, many drivers admit that dealing with an insurance company is the most stressful aspect of a collision. Remember that you have the right to choose your personal preferred auto body shop. While insurance agents may try to steer you into choosing a particular shop, you, by law, can pick any shop.

When it comes to regular auto and auto body repairs, it's best to take action immediately. Instead of waiting to get a problem fixed, make repairs immediately. A small issue can quickly escalate into a larger and more expensive repair.
