Delco Offers a Cornucopia of Food Drives to Help Neighbors in Need

This holiday season, Patch has ideas where you can bring canned goods and other non-perishable items to help feed those in need.

This Thanksgiving, many of us will be sitting down with our family and friends to a tremendous meal with turkey and all the trimmings. Many though, will not be as fortunate this year. Thousands of people in Delaware County are in need of food assistance, and count on the generosity of others to provide nourishment this holiday season.

There are many places in Delaware County where you can donate food items, including canned goods and other non-perishables, like pasta, rice and fruit juices, as well as turkeys. Government facilities, churches, schools, and other community organizations have set up food drives for Thanksgiving and throughout the holiday season. Your donations will directly help the residents and homeless in the County.

Be sure to check with each organization to find out drop-off locations, what particular items are being collected, and when they are being accepted.
