Havertown Woman In The Running For Mrs. Holiday

Holiday lover Coleen Katz is in the running for the Taste of Home's contest.

A lot of people love the holidays. But Coleen Katz's affection for St. Patrick's Day may win her $50,000.

The Havertown woman is in the running in cooking magazine Taste of Home's Mrs. Holiday contest, according to a press release from the publication.

"If selected as Mrs. Holiday by Taste of Home, she will receive $50,000 and a spokesperson role with the company," stated Taste of Home. "The woman selected by Taste of Home to be Mrs. Holiday will be an advocate, an ambassador, and an inspiration; someone who brings the holidays to life in a fun and creative way.  Once crowned, Mrs. Holiday will conduct interviews, blog, make live appearances, participate in cooking segments, and more."

Katz was selected as a contestant because of her video entry, where she mentioned that her favorite holiday is St. Patrick's Day, and she submitted her recipe for Across the Irish Sea Potatoes.

Havertown residents can support Katz by going to the Taste of Home's Facebook page and vote for her once a day until the voting ends Friday, Sept. 7, explained the press release.

"Mrs. Holiday will be selected from the top 100 vote-getters by a panel of experts, so every vote counts!" the press release stated.
