Haverford-Havertown Patch's Fourth of July Guide

How to have a fun, healthy and safe Fourth of July.

As our nation is celebrating its 236th birthday this Fourth of July, Haverford Township residents can find great ways to celebrate, eat healthy and stay safe.

Celebration, Parades and Fireworks

"The Penfield Civic Association has a 4th of July Celebration at the Grange Playground in Havertown. We begin at 9:30 with a bike parade led by the Brookline Fire Company, then we have moonbounces, face painting, spin art, fire truck rides and relay races until Noon. Cost is $20 per family," wrote .

: The Llanerch Civic Association's Annual 4th of July Parade. Decorate bicycles, strollers, and even your dog! We'll parade through the neighborhood and end at Llanerch Park with prizes and snacks. It starts at 10 a.m. at the  at 107 W Chester Pike, Havertown, PA.

From 4th Ward Commissioner Dan Siegel: Join your friends and neighbors on Wednesday, July 4, 2012 as the Paddock Farms Civic Association sponsors its Annual July 4th Celebration. The program begins at 10:30 a.m. at Merrybrook Circle. The parade commences at 10:45 a.m. and arrives at Paddock Park at approximately 11 a.m., where you can join in all of the festivities, which are expected to last until 1 p.m. 

Among the day's highlights is the 4th of July themed parade, at which prizes will be awarded for best decorated bike, stroller, scooter, etc. In addition, there will be:

  • Field games (sack races, 3-legged races, a 50 yard dash, and tug of war)
  • Pony rides
  • Clown
  • DJ
  • Face painting
