Ice hockey player was thrown into the boards and laying on the ice for 20 minutes is now doing fine says school official

The Haverford High School junior varsity ice hockey player who was injured during a game last night is reportedly doing well and is at school today, said a school official.

Joann Patterson, the Haverford High School's athletic director, said that the student in question was OK and was in school today.

that Fords' hockey player Patrick Walsh was thrown into the boards during a game between the Haverford JV hockey club team and St. Joe's Prep at the Skatium in Havertown last night.

Walsh remained on the ice for more than 20 minutes after the hit and the Skatium's training staff and EMTs attended to him before a neck brace was placed on him as a precautionary measure before being taken away on a stretcher to an awaiting ambulance outside.

Patterson said that due to school policy, she was not able to confirm if it was Walsh who was injured or his age or grade.
