View An Arboretum Through Eyes of Landscape Architect

The director of Haverford College Arboretum will lead a guided walk Sunday, Feb. 10.

The director of the Haverford College arboretum will lead a guided winter walk through its grounds the afternoon Sunday of Feb. 10.

According to the college's website, arboretum director Bill Astifan will examine the landscape through a landscape architect's perspective:

The arrangement of the landscape can be broken into light, texture, placement of plants, size of plants and even color. A closer look at plants reveals basic elements of structure, bark and buds that all add to the experience. Winter landscapes become personal because of the feelings they evoke, Bill says.
The hour-long walk begins at 1:30 p.m. in front of the Whitehead Campus Center. Dress for the weather.
