School District Issues Early Dismissal For 3 Schools

With the high expected to be 100 degrees for Thursday, three elementary schools will have a 1 p.m. early dismissal, stated the Haverford School District.

For the , the Haverford School District will let children of the three elementary schools without air conditioning out early Thursday at 1 p.m.

The early dismissal of , and Coopertown Elementary School comes as the temperature is expected to reach 100 degrees on Thursday, according to the National Weather Service (NWS). The NWS has issued another excessive heat warning for Thursday.

The district stated that there would be no early dismissals for the other schools since they have air conditioning.

In , the Haverford-Havertown Patch reported that the three Havertown elementary schools do not have air conditioning. 

In the article, Dave Schrader, director of communications for the Southeastern Pennsylvania Chapter of the American Red Cross, said teachers and students should be drinking plenty of water and to avoid soda, juice and caffeinated drinks.
