The Haverford-Havertown Patch has left voice and email messages to Prendergast Catholic High School to confirm the Facebook posting late Thursday afternoon after school hours. The school has not yet returned Patch’s requests for comment.

However on both of their websites, Prendergast and Bonner have a web page each that mentions the appeal and information on how people can donate money “to keep the school(s) open.”

Patch also left a voice message with the Archdiocese of Philadelphia seeking comment about Prendergast and Bonner's decision to appeal after school hours early Thursday night and has not yet received a call back.

The Blue Ribbon Commission also recommended that merge with next school year, where an official at St. Denis told Patch that the new merged school would be called the  John Cardinal Foley Catholic Elementary School.

But Rev. Mark Haynes, of the Annunciation BVM Church in Havertown, told Patch on Thursday morning that he would not discuss the merger or any plans with the press and only with his parishioners.

Patch has left messages for Rev. James J. Graham of St. Denis to comment about the situation, but he has not yet contacted the news website.
