Local Students Win National Merit Scholarships
The 2,500 Merit Scholar designees were chosen from a pool of more than 15,000 finalists.
Local students are amongst those who are National Merit $2500 Scholarship winners.
According to the National Merit Scholarship Corporation, the 2,500 Merit Scholar designees were chosen from a pool of more than 15,000 finalists in the 2013 National Merit Scholarship Program. The number of winners named in each state is proportional to the state’s percentage of the nation’s graduating high school seniors, according to the corporation.
