In the aftermath of the tragic Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting in Newtown, CT, Haverford Township Superintendent of Schools William Keilbaugh announced through email on Sunday that additional counseling services and support will be offered in all Haverford Township School District schools.
Keilbaugh issued the following statement in regards to the Sandy Hook shooting:
"Our school community joins the nation in grieving over Friday's heartbreaking tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Ct. The School District of Haverford Township's administration, instructional staff and district employees are all committed to the safety and care of each and every one of our students and staff members. Our schools are safe, caring places. On Monday, school counseling staff and additional personnel will be on site to support children and will remain as needed. The District will continue to be vigilant regarding all security issues and the general safety of students and staff during the school day. We send our love and support to the families of Newtown."
