Havertown Students Graduate from Devon Prep

Devon Prep wanted to share this information with the community.

Several area students recently graduated from Devon Preparatory School during the Class of 2012 Commencement Ceremony held on the school’s campus in Devon.  

Nearly half of the 49 graduates reside in Delaware County. Collectively the Class of 2012 earned over $7.4 million in college scholarships. In addition they received more than 200 acceptances to more than 100 colleges and universities, including Princeton, Cornell, the University of Pennsylvania, Fordham, Colgate, Tufts, NYU, Notre Dame, Case Western Reserve, Drexel, Penn State, and the United States Military Academy.

More than 35 percent (18) of the graduates are AP Scholars, 11 are AP Scholars with Distinction. Ten are National Merit Scholars, six are finalists and three are scholarship winners. Eight of these young men are Eagle Scouts and several will go on to participate in Division 1 and Division 3 baseball, basketball and cross country. 

In addition, the class performed more than 2,000 hours of community service doing everything from collecting and distributing food to needy families to raising nearly $24,000 for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Zachary T. Bonner of Havertown – Susquehanna University (Honors) - Excellence in AP French Award

Christopher P. Caporale of Havertown – LaSalle University –Excellence in Religion Award

Samuel S. Nardi of Havertown – West Chester University

Benjamin F. Senss of Havertown –Drexel University (BS/MS) – Excellence in AP Calculus AB Award, Brady- Gallagher Award

Connell J. White of Havertown – Loyola University Maryland – AP Scholar
