Haverford Teen Among Elite Students

Haverford teen Christian Humann is among an elite group of students selected as National Merit Semi-Finalists. Huamnn is one of ten students at The Episcopal Academy in Newtown Square.  According to the school, there are 15,000 semifinalists from across the country now designated as finalists. These students will continue in the competition for some 8,300 National Merit Scholarships worth more than $32 million.

According to a release from Episcopal Academy,

From March through mid-June, the National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC) will announce those finalists who have been selected to receive one of three Merit Scholarship awards. They are National Merit® $2,500 scholarships, corporate-sponsored merit scholarship awards, and college-sponsored merit scholarship awards. More than half of the Finalists will win a National Merit Scholarship, earning the Merit Scholar title.
