Haverford School Student Gets in the Game with Popular Sports Blog

Manav Khandelwal started Khandyman.com in December of 2011.

A Haverford School sophomore turned web entrepreneur is making a name for himself in the Philadelphia sports blogosphere, the Main Line Media News is reporting.

Thanks to fun and unconventional takes on sports personalities Jon Gruden, Josh Hamilton, Jason Babin, and Jrue Holiday, among others, Manav Khandelwal has gotten Khandyman.com almost 50,000 hits in its initial year.

The Narberth resident whose favorite athlete is Phillies slugger Ryan Howard told the paper that the secret to his success is his website’s attractive interface (he took a web design course to get Khandyman up to snuff on this front) and the student body at the Haverford School. Not only does he count plenty of Fords as readers, but several write for the site too.

“I have a number of followers here at Haverford School,” Khandelwal said. “I advertised my website at Haverford through word of mouth, and through friends [at Haverford]. We’re a tight-knit community here.”
