Haverford Middle School Will Be Open Tuesday

The school has its power back.

In a message on the homepage Monday night, Principal Carol Restifo said the school will be open Tuesday, Dec. 06.

On Monday afternoon behind the middle school, construction workers accidentally severed the feed to a transformer with a backhoe and knocked the power out of the school, Sgt. Shant Bedrossian and school district Superintendent Bill Keilbaugh at the scene.

As a precautionary measure, the school was evacuated but there was no report of a fire and no one was injured.

But another transformer has been installed and school is scheduled to resume at normal times on Tuesday.

"Another transformer has been secured and placed on site. Our electrical system is back on line and is working effectively. Happily, HMS will be open tomorrow.
I look forward to seeing everyone at the Middle School tomorrow morning at our usual time," wrote Restifo.
