Graduating Senior To Deliver Keynote Address

Caroline Joan Bowden will be delivering the keynote speech at Haverford High School's graduation.

The Haverford Township School District has announced that graduating high school senior Caroline Joan Bowden will be delivering the keynote address on Monday evening, June 11, at Villanova University.

“In her address, Ms. Bowden will challenge her classmates to see graduation not simply as an opportunity to honor past accomplishments but as an ‘opportunity for rebirth’ and ‘a way to explore a new universe,’” a press release from the school district, which was sent to the Haverford-Havertown Patch Thursday morning, stated.

Bowden, who has been a life-long Haverford Township student—having attended and , will be going to Temple University as a journalism major and will be in the honors program, according to the press release.

In fact, Bowden is familiar to the world of journalism as she is the programming director for the high school’s radio station, WHHS.

Besides crafting a keynote speech, Bowden has taken advanced placement courses in biology, English, psychology and statistics and is a bassist for the orchestra and jazz ensemble.
