HPED Workshop: Reducing Energy Costs - Strategies for Business Owners

Speakers:       Haverford Township Environmental Advisory Council members Tom Morgan (Branch Manager, HVAC Sales Center for Peirce-Phelps, Inc) and David Hartke (Principal, Stampfl Hartke Associates); State Rep Greg Vitali (PA State Representative in the PA-166 district); Elizabeth Finocchio (Manager of Marketing Promotions, PECo); Dr. Peter Sottile (Senior Director, Ignite Inc.).

Summary: In the current economic climate, small businesses must do everything they can to contain costs and expenditures so they can remain viable and offset low consumer spending. Energy costs represent a significant portion of any small business’ expenditures, so it’s important to consider strategies for reducing energy costs wherever possible.

HPED’s April workshop will examine ways for small businesses to contain energy costs. The workshop will cover a range of topics including strategies to reduce energy consumption, deregulation of the electric energy generation industry in Pennsylvania, PECo energy conservation initiatives for small businesses, and new options for electric energy suppliers in PA.
