"He donated his time to record us one day after school and we submitted the mp3 to B101 that same week," said Serratore.

Over 100 schools entered this year's competition, said Serratore, and Haverford Middle School's choir was chosen as one of the nine semifinalists.

"The thrill for all of us is that the community will be able to hear our wonderful choir on the website and on the radio during the holiday season, but if we do move on in the competition we could win money toward our department, or a brand new piano (valued at $8,000) and an opportunity to perform with the Philly Pops," said Serratore.

If they receive one of the highest amount of votes on Tuesday, the Haverford Middle School choir will move on to round two next week.
