The public can tune in at 7 a.m. on Tuesday and listen to Haverford Middle School's Select Choir 7th Heaven sing 'Carol of the Bells' in B101's Christmas Choir Competition.
From 7 a.m. to 9 p.m., the public can vote for this local choir on B101's website here.
Jackie Serratore, the new choral director at Haverford Middle School, told Patch she submitted the choir into the competition at the end of November with the help of a choir parent Michael Comstock.
"He donated his time to record us one day after school and we submitted the mp3 to B101 that same week," said Serratore.
Over 100 schools entered this year's competition, said Serratore, and Haverford Middle School's choir was chosen as one of the nine semifinalists.
"The thrill for all of us is that the community will be able to hear our wonderful choir on the website and on the radio during the holiday season, but if we do move on in the competition we could win money toward our department, or a brand new piano (valued at $8,000) and an opportunity to perform with the Philly Pops," said Serratore.
If they receive one of the highest amount of votes on Tuesday, the Haverford Middle School choir will move on to round two next week.
