Haverford High School Student Named Merit Semi-finalist

Haverford High School announced that Senior Kate Henderson has been named a National Merit Scholarship Semifinalists.  She will continue in the National Merit Scholarship competition for one of over 8,000 National Merit Scholarships. 

In addition, Haverford High School has fourteen seniors named as Commended Scholars for National Merit.  The students are Alex Anderson, Ian Anstee, Brian Browne, Scott Collins, Matthew Dangeli, Christopher Donnay, Elizabeth Freilich, Hannah Han, Kate Henderson, Hugh Huang, Zachary Klee, Gabriel Robinson-Barr, Igor Smola, Kevin Vu.  

There are approximately 16,000 National Merit Semifinalists this year.  These students are the highest-scoring entrants in each state and will compete for scholarships worth more than $34 million.  Semifinalists must fulfill several requirements to advance to the Finalist level of the competition. They will then be considered for a National Merit Scholarship award.
