What's Open/Closed on Election Day?

Find out who will alter services come Nov. 6.

Election Day will happen Nov. 6. While it's every citizens own choice who to vote for—or whether to vote at all—some organizations may close or alter their schedules due to the election.

Here's a look at some services and how they are impacted by the Tuesday general election.


The School District of Haverford is closed Tuesday to students. However, the day is an inservice for faculty and staff.

Municipal Services

Government offices are open.

Trash collection still occurs.

The United States Post Office is open and mail will be delivered.

According to Haverford Township trash schedule, there is no trash collection on Tuesday. Trash will be collected on Wednesday (no yard waste)

Correct, there is no trash collection on election day, the county trash area is closed. Haverford's trash will be picked up on Wednesday. No yard waste recycling this week.

Yes. But it will promptly be replaced by a stack of Romney/Ryan mailers featuring sad children holding angry messages.
