West Nile Treatment Scheduled for Tuesdat Night

Haverford will be sprayed Tuesday evening.

Haverford residents can expect state Department of Enviromental Protection trucks to spary for the mosquitos on Tuesday night, according to a release from the township.

Operations are expected to commence around 5:30 p.m. Tuesday night and should be done by 10 p.m.

According to a release from the township, the spraying mixture is designed to provide quick knockdown and effective control of adult mosquitoes.

So how exactly do they accomplish this? Walk around your yard spraying the trees? Seems like it would take longer then 5 hours....

I think they have a truck that just drives down the street. Does anyone know if they did it last night or if it perhaps take a bit to affect them? The mosquitos were in full force this morning on W. Clearfield.

A couple trucks drove by spraying on Fairview Ave last night while I was out walking. They stopped spraying as they drove past me, so I didn't get a face full of pesticide. But I did cut my walk short.
