Public Meeting To Be Held For Sewer Tank Proposal

The Proposed tank could be moved to where the volleyball courts are within Merry Place Park.

The Radnor Haverford Marple (RHM) Sewer Authority and the Haverford Township Board of Commissioners will be having a public meeting on Monday, Dec. 5, to discuss the proposed 1.5-million gallon sanitary sewer storage tank.

During the Haverford Township Board of Commissioners meeting on , RHM Sewer Authority solicitor Bill Toal suggested to the board that the proposed underground sewer storage tank could either be moved to where the volleyball courts are located at and then move the courts to the right of the entrance gate of the park.

Or move the volleyball courts to where the RHM building is located within the park, at 600 Glendale Rd., Havertown.

At one point, in a , it was suggested to place the tank, which may have the pricetag of $2 million, further away from the tennis courts, in a wooded area. But after a survey of the area was taken, it was discovered that the area is wetlands and that there were concerns of flooding issues.

The 1.5-million gallon sanitary sewer storage tank could be placed where the volleyball courts are located now and would be flush to the ground, Toal proposed.
