New Lights a Nod to the Old

Haverford Township is investing in its business districts.

New street lamps are giving a nod to traditional design in Havertown.

New lighting is being installed on Eagle Road between Darby and Darby and extending to the Oakmont parking lot.

Shown in the photo, black lamp posts, like the one in the foreground, will replace the overhanging lights, seen in the background.

Funding for the project comes from the township's general fund.

"We're trying to help beautify the township," township manager Larry Gentile said.

The commerical block of Brookline Boulevard is getting the same new lights as well as new sidewalks and curbs.

We need new street lights on Lancaster Ave. The ones there are rusty antiques

The three blocks of Lancaster Ave in Haverford Twp are the only ones that didnt have street lights replaced. Somebody slipped up.

They probably though that part of Lancaster Ave should be handled by Lower Merion.
