Haverford Township Commissioners May Consider Police Appointments

The township could gain seven new officers.

The Haverford Township Board of Commissioners may vote on the appointment of seven new police officers next week.

At a Board of Commissioners work session on Monday night, Board of Commissioners President William Weschler said at the commission’s regular board meeting on Aug. 8, there will be the acceptance of the civil service entry level police list and “hopefully the appointment of seven entry level police officers.”

Police Chief Carmen Pettine said in an interview with the Haverford-Havertown Patch before the meeting that the civil service list is not official yet and the names of the seven officers whom the commissioners will consider appointing will not be released until the Aug, 8 meeting.
