Final 2013 Budget Could be Approved Monday

The Board of Commissioners will hear a second and final presentation of the township's proposed budget for the coming year.

Haverford Township could be a few days away from having a 2013 budget.

According to a release on the township website, the Haverford Board of Commissioners will have a second and final presentation of the proposed budget at their Dec 10 meeting. The preliminary budget was reviewed and approved in ameeting on Nov. 19.

The adopted preliminary budget forecasts that the township will generate over $20.6 million in revenue from township real estate taxes in the coming year, a 4.5 percent increase from the $19.6 million budgeted for in 2012.

The proposed 2012 budget also allocates $14 million in expenses with regards to the Haverford Police Department. The next highest expense for the township is its highway department, which is budgeted for $4 million in expenses.

The Board of Commissioners will meet on Dec 10 at 7:30 p.m.
