With Heavy Rain Expected, L.M. Police Cancels Planned DUI Checkpoints

The checkpoints, with roving patrols, are funded by PennDOT.

The Lower Merion Police Department has cancelled the impaired driving checkpoints, combined with "roving patrols," it had planned for this weekend, the township announced Friday afternoon through a press release.

The cancellation is due to "the threat of inclement weather," a township spokeswoman stated late Friday. Heavy rains are expected tonight and Saturday.

Sobriety checkpoints are being funded by grants from PennDOT.
