Police Respond to Man with Gun

The following information comes from the Haverford Police Department. Arrests do not indicate guilt or conviction.

According to a release from the Haverford Township Police Department, police responded to the following incidents between August 1 and 8:

Aggravated Assault at Manoa and Heatherwood Roads on August 2 - Police were dispatched to the above location for a subject with a gun. The victim's reported that an unknown male followed them after being involved in a verbal altercation and threatened them with what they believed to be a gun.


Burglary at the 600 block of Valley View Road on August 3 - Victim reported that someone entered her residence through an unlocked door and stole her laptop when she was asleep.

Fraud at the 700 block of Georges Lane on August 3 - Victim reported that he lost his wallet containing his credit cards. He later realized that someone had made multiple purchases with the credit cards.

Burglary at the 3200 block of Darby Road on August 7 - Unknown persons forced entry through the front door when the residence owner was on vacation. The contents of numerous drawers and closets were thrown on the floor.

In reference to the burglary on Valley View Road: It serves them right. They should always lock their door. I'm glad at least they weren't hurt. They could have been killed.

It's a sad state of affairs when we have to lock our doors everytime, but we have had recent home invasions and many many burglaries. We must stay vigilant to protect ourselves and our property.
