Police: Men Looking for 'Pills' Attempt Robbery on E. Eagle Road

Police say one of the masked men wrestled a woman to the ground in an attempt to take her purse.

The following incident reports were provided by the Haverford Township Police Department. Arrest does not suggest conviction.

Theft at LA Fitness (400 block of West Chester Pike) on November 7 at 8:21 p.m. Three vehicle windows were smashed out and an iPhone, a duffle bag with over $400 worth of vitamins, credit cards, $280, and a cell phone were stolen.

Bicycle Theft at the unit block of Hannum Drive on 1November 7 at 7:56 p.m.

Vandalism at the Quarry (100 block of W. Township Line Road) on November 8 at 9:22 a.m. Unknown actors entered the construction site and damaged 24 anchor bolts, which support columns. Police also discovered damaged wiring on a Pettibone lift.  

Fraud at the 100 block of Morlyn Avenue on November 9 at 3:36 p.m. The victim received a phone call stating that she won a cash price and a new Mercedes. The victim was scammed into sending money to receive the prize.

Identity Theft at the unit block of Cedarbrook Road on November 9 at 8:52 a.m. The victim reported that an unknown person filed a tax return using his identity.

Vandalism at the 2400 block of Darby Road on November 9 at 10:54 a.m. A PECO meter was tampered with.

Vandalism at Wawa (unit block of E. Eagle Road) on November 9 at 2 p.m. A vehicle was scratched.

Liquor Law Violation at the unit block of Brookline Boulevard on November 9 at 9:32 p.m. Two juveniles were cited for underage drinking.

Robbery at the 400 block of E. Eagle Road on November 10 at 8:53 p.m. Two female victims reported that two white males with a bandanna mask across their face demanded that they "give them the pills". Both victims informed the suspects they did not have any pills and they then demanded their purses. The one victim refused and he physically wrestled her to the ground to retrieve the purse. The subjects were last seen running towards Merwood Park.

Retail Theft at Kohl's on November 10 at 2:35 p.m. Lila Corgan, 28, a resident of the 500 block of Achille Road, was cited for retail theft of $147 worth of merchandise.

Retail Theft at Kohl's (200 block of West Chester Pike) on November 10 at 6:23 a.m. Devon E. Else, 29, a resident of the 1000 block of Sproul Road, Byrn Mawr, was cited for the retail theft of $58 worth of merchandise.     

Liquor Law Violation at the unit block of Woodbine Road on November 10 at 7:47 p.m. Police responded to the above location for an underage drinking party in a vacant house. Katherine Applegate, 18, a resident of the 600 block of Willowbrook Road, and three juveniles were cited for underage drinking.

Public Drunkenness at the 100 block of West Chester Pike on November 10 at 7:40 p.m. Police responded for the report of a drunk male banging on residence doors and screaming in the middle of the street. Kevin Mulhern, 25, and of the 2500 block of Bond Avenue, Drexel Hill, was cited for public drunkenness and disorderly conduct.  

Robbery at the 1200 block of West Chester Pike on November 11 at 3:20 p.m. Juvenile victim reported that two juveniles known to her stole $22 from her wallet and fled. Police located the subjects a short time late. Two juveniles were arrested and charged. 

Theft at the 400 block of West Chester Pike on November 12 at 8:40 p.m. Unknown persons shattered a vehicle window and stole a purse containing Septa tokens and keys. 

Fraud at the 200 block of W. Darby Road on November 12 at 7:26 p.m. A victim reported that numerous fraudulent charges were made on two of her credit cards without her permission or knowledge.

Criminal Mischief at the 2900 block of Rising Sun Road on November 12 at 8:04 a.m. A vehicle tire was flattened.

Bicycle Theft at the unit block of Hannum Drive on November 13 at 4:43 p.m.

Simple Assault at the 1200 block of West Chester Pike on November 13 at 1:06 a.m. Police responded to the above location for a domestic disturbance. Police were met by the victim and her boyfriend, Raymond Magness, and both parties agreed that they were having an argument and everything was alright. As police left the apartment they observed Magness grab the victim and drag her inside the apartment. The victim reported he banged her head into a cabinet. Magness was arrested and charged.
