Police: Havertown Woman Trashed Apartment, Assaulted Officer

Police say she was taken for a mental health evaluation after she was forcibly arrested.

A Havertown woman was arrested last weekend after police say she trashed her apartment, then attempted to kick an officer in the groin when her landlord called Haverford Police.

Bonita C. Rotoli, 49, stands charged with multiple counts of simple assault, harassment, terroristic threats, resisting arrest, aggravated assault, and criminal mischief stemming from the November 30 incident.

According to court documents, a Haverford Police officer was dispatched to the 100 block of West Chester Pike at 2:29 p.m. for a reported dispute between a tenant and her landlord.

When the officer arrived on the scene, Rotoli was standing on the third floor fire escape, holding bags and several personal effects. The landlord then emerged from his second floor apartment and informed the officer that he’d called because Rotoli had “trashed” the apartment she was renting.

The officer, fearing for the woman’s safety, asked Rotoli to stay where she was, but the woman rushed down the fire escape stairs towards him. When he told her to return to her apartment, Rotoli told him to “get the [expletive]” out of her way and attempted to kick him in the groin. She then threw all her belongings off the side of the railing and pushed the officer in the chest.

At this point, the officer requested assistance and Rotoli was, forcibly, taken into custody.

Bonita Rotoli was transferred to Mercy Fitzgerald crisis center for a mental health evaluation. She faces preliminary hearing on December 6.

Seriously....with a name like Bonita Rotoli....you are pretty much asking for a kick in the groin.

Wonder if she's any relation to Haverford Township School District Assistant Superintendent Nicholas Rotoli?

Joe L - Nick's ex-wife's name was "Bonnie"

Uh...Bonnie sounds like one and the same Bonita. Hey--what's with the Italian slur up there, FrankW? Needs to be flagged as 'inappropriate!'

Leave Frank W alone. He was slurring Spaniards, not Italians. Ohhhhhhh
