Police: Havertown Woman Tells 911 That Her Husband Shot Her

Police plan to charge Geral Ray Moss Jr. with criminal attempt of homicide.

In a press release to the media Friday night, has stated that Geral Ray Moss Jr. will be charged with criminal attempt of homicide after his wife was shot in the shoulder that left her in critical but stable condition.

At 1:13 p.m. Friday afternoon, the Delaware County 911 Communication Center dispatched police to the 500 block of Wales Road in Havertown after the center received a 911 emergency hang-up call, stated the press release.

The police requested that the 911 dispatcher to call the home again for more information.

“Upon calling back the residence, a woman answered the phone and said that she had been shot by her husband,” the press release stated.

At 1:16 p.m., a male from the home called 911 and stated that he shot his wife, at which point the dispatcher kept him on the line until police arrived, the press release stated.

Haverford Township police and the 911 dispatcher talked the male into surrendering and he was taken into custody, the press release continued.

The unnamed 25-year-old white female had a gunshot wound to her right shoulder and was flown to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, where she is listed as being in critical but stable condition, the press release confirmed. 

Moss, 26, will be charged criminal attempt of homicide, aggravated assault, simple assault, recklessly endangering another person and possessing instruments of crime, the press release stated. 

A 9mm handgun was recovered at the scene and the investigation is ongoing.
