Police: Havertown Woman Assaulted Boyfriend's Daughter

"She grabbed me really hard and my face hurts," the girl told police.

A Havertown woman was arrested on Sunday after police say she assaulted her boyfriend’s daughter.

Amber Dawn Galvin, 31, faces charges of simple assault of a victim under age 12, harassment, and endangering the welfare of a child stemming from the October 21 incident.

According to court documents, Galvin and her boyfriend got in a verbal fight in their Manoa Road home at approximately 8 p.m. that evening. The argument got sufficiently heated that the man told his daughter to stay in her room and get ready for bed.

Shortly after the argument subsided and Galvin and her boyfriend separated, the man heard his daughter crying from her room. The girl told her father that Galvin got mad when she “talked back to her” and grabbed her face across the mouth and squeezed tightly as retaliation.

Police noted the girl had red and slightly swollen cheeks. When they asked her if she was okay, the child replied “she grabbed me really hard and my face hurts.”
