Police Blotter: Vandals Severely Damage Car

Public Drunkenness at the 600 block of Lawson Avenue on 9/7 at 1:52 a.m. — Officers were dispatched to the above residence for a suspicious white male in the driveway. Upon arrival officers located Joseph Johnston in the driveway smoking a cigarette. Johnston was highly intoxicated and thought it was his residence. Johnston was arrested and charged.

Burglary (forced entry) at the 400 block of W. Langhorne Avenue on 9/7 at 7:28 a.m. — Victim reported that a person known to her forced his or her way into her residence through a bathroom window. Nothing was reported missing.

Burglary (forced entry) at the 600 block of Lawson Avenue on 9/7 at 10:06 a.m. — A white male gained access into the residence by prying open the kitchen screen door. The subject removed cash from the victim's wallet and then fled when he heard the owner coming down the steps. The subject fell down the steps as he fled. Joseph Johnston was involved in a public drunkenness arrest earlier that evening and officers responded to his residence for questioning due to the location of the previous arrest. It was then that officers observed injuries consistent with falling down the steps. Joseph Johnston was arrested and charged. 

Burglary (no force) at the 100 block of Wilson Avenue on 9/7 at 4:37 p.m. — Victim reported that an unknown person entered her residence and ransacked the living room, kitchen and a bedroom. Nothing was reported missing. 

Retail Theft at the 200 block of West Chester Pike on 9/7 at 8:23 p.m. — An unidentified male stole a pair of sneakers and fled the store. 

Identity Theft at the 200 block of Fairlamb Avenue on 9/7 at 10:17 a.m. — Victim reported that someone opened three credit card accounts using his identity without his permission or knowledge.

Theft at the Haverford Township Library (1600 block of Darby Road) on 9/8 at 5:39 p.m. — Victim reported that her purse was stolen from her bag while she was using the computers. Her purse contained a check book, debit card and cash.

Public Drunkenness at Haverford Road and Wynnewood Avenue on 9/8 at 2:55 a.m. — Officer were dispatched to the above location for a disabled vehicle. Upon arrival the officer was approached by a white female who stated that two white male were harassing her by stealing her jumper cables. Officers observed an intoxicated male walking along the street. The other male was then seen further down the road. Both subjects had a strong odor of alcohol coming from their person and walked with an unsteady gait. Matthew Dilodovico, 22, of the unit block of W. Glenn Circle, Media, and Kyle Wunder, 21, of the unit block of Bunting Lane, Aston were cited for public drunkenness.

Burglary (forced entry) at the 800 block of Ardmore Avenue on 9/9 at 1:35 p.m — Unknown persons gained access into the victim's apartment through a bedroom window. Cash was stolen from a wallet.

Counterfeiting at LA Fitness (400 block of West Chester Pike) on 9/9 at 10:15 a.m. — A manager reported that a white female purchased juice items with a counterfeit $100 bill. 

Fraud at the unit block of Barbara Lane on 9/9 at 12:35 p.m. — Victim reported that an unknown person submitted a tax return using his identity.

Criminal Mischief at Haverford College (300 block of Lancaster Avenue) on 9/10 at 7:32 a.m. — Vehicle front windshield, drivers and passenger side front door windows were smashed. The front hood was crushed in and the side mirrors were ripped away from the vehicle.

Theft at the 200 block of Harding Avenue on 9/11 at 4:38 p.m. — Victim reported that four pathway lights were stolen from her walkway.

Burglary at the 1400 block of Fairview Avenue on 9/12 at 7:13 p.m. — The victim's son reported that his mother’s back door of her residence was kicked in. Nothing has been reported missing.

Bicycle Theft at the 700 block of College Avenue on 9/12 at 5:59 p.m.

Theft at the 900 block of Haverford Road on 9/12 at 12:20 p.m. — A victim reports that an unknown person stole her change purse containing $4 in change out of her unsecured vehicle.

Theft at the 300 block of Edgehill Drive on 9/13 at 8:15 a.m. — Unlocked vehicle was entered — an iPod and a work bag were stolen. The bag contained eyeglasses, cell phone, debit card, driver's license and a train pass.

Theft at the 200 block of E. Benedict Avenue on 9/13 at 7:17 p.m. — Unlocked vehicle was entered — a backpack containing work books was stolen.

Fraud at the unit block of Hillcrest Avenue on 9/13 at 2:03 p.m. — Victim reported that a person known to him stole and cashed three of his checks. 

Theft of Services at the 1300 block of West Chester Pike on 9/13 at 3:56 a.m. — Crystal Lawrence, 26, 1500 block of Sunny Hill Lane, was cited for theft of services for fleeing without paying her cab fare.
