Police Blotter: Thefts, Drugs and other Incidents

Police find a crying baby in the backseat of a car and a female in the front unconscious, with drugs and drug paraphernalia found in the vehicle.

NCIDENTS:

Burglary (forced entry) at the 600 block of Paddock Road on 3/23 at 3:09 p.m. — Victim reported that an unknown person entered her residence through a basement window and stole new under garments from her closet.

Retail Theft at CVS (1100 block of West Chester Pike) on 3/23 at 4:50 p.m. — Two males stole numerous sticks of deodorant and fled the scene.

Fraud at the 400 block of College Avenue on 3/23 at 6:55 p.m. — An unknown person made purchases on the victim's credit card without her permission or knowledge.

Narcotics at Darby and Woodcroft Roads on 3/23 at 11 p.m. — While conducting a vehicle stop the officer detected a strong odor of burnt marijuana. Marijuana, prescription medication and drug paraphernalia were observed in the vehicle. Corey Benjammin Mandel was arrested and charged.

Theft at Bryn Mawr Terrace (700 block of Haverford Road) on 3/24 at 2:37 p.m. — An employee reported that she left her cell phone unattended in the shower room and it was stolen.  

Retail Theft at Kohl's (200 block of West Chester Pike) on 3/25 at 2:55 p.m. — Alicia Marie Kirby, 19, 7100 block of Greenwood Avenue, Upper Darby, was cited for the retail theft of $111 worth of merchandise.

Theft at the 700 block of Beechwood Road on 3/25 at 5:08 a.m. — Unlocked vehicle was entered — cell phone accessory was stolen.  

Theft at the 100 block of David Drive on 3/25 at 10:41 a.m. — Unlocked vehicle was entered — briefcase was stolen.

Theft at the 700 block of Cricket Avenue on 3/25 at 11:25 a.m. — The victim witnessed a male exit a truck and enter his parked car. Two CDs were stolen.

Fraud at the unit block of E. Manoa Road on 3/25 at 6:27 p.m. — Victim reported that an unknown person updated his cell phone contract and added two Blackberry phones using his identity.   

Criminal Mischief at Manoa and Naylors Run Roads on 3/25 at 11:31 p.m. — An unknown subject threw eggs at a juvenile while he was walking home from school.  

Vandalism at the unit block of E. Manoa Road on 3/25 at 6:10 p.m. — A 14-year-old male threw the victim's lawn ornament in the sewer.

Narcotics at Tunbridge Road and College Avenue on 3/25 at 4:46 p.m. — Officers were dispatched to a parked vehicle with an infant crying in the backseat. Upon arrival the officer observed a female in the passenger seat slumped over into the driver's seat unconscious. Drugs and drug paraphernalia were observed on her seat. Arrest is pending.

Vandalism at the 5000 block of Brittany Lane on 3/26 at 8:59 a.m. — Residence was egged and toilet paper was strewn through their tree.

Public Drunkenness at the 1700 block of West Chester Pike on 3/26 at 3:30 a.m. — Officers were dispatched for an alcohol overdose. A 25-year-old was transported to the hospital for treatment and cited for public drunkenness.

Simple Assault at the 2600 block of Darby Road on 3/27 at 6:47 p.m. — Victim reported that her boyfriend, Sean Mabus, pushed her causing her to strike her head into a cabinet. Mabus also kicked the victim in the leg. The officer observed blood on the victim face and she was transported to the hospital for treatment. Sean Mabus was arrested and charged.

Simple Assault at the unit block of W. Manoa Road on 3/27 at 10:07 p.m. — Victim reported that she had an argument with her boyfriend, Leo Sheeler, over text messages. The victim feared for her and her children's safety. She locked herself in the bathroom and her boyfriend kicked the door in and tackled her to the ground. Leo Sheeler was arrested and charged with simple assault.

Vandalism at the 100 block of Stockton Road on 3/27 at 8:16 p.m. — Two vehicle's were keyed. 

Liquor Law Violation at Haverford College (300 block of Lancaster Avenue) on 3/27 at 1:37 a.m. — Police were dispatched for an alcohol overdose. The male was transported to the hospital for treatment. He was cited for underage drinking.

Theft at the 2400 block of Whitby Road on 3/28 at 2:45 p.m. — Unlocked vehicle was entered — Camera and laptop were stolen.

Vandalism at the 100 block of Stockton Road on 3/28 at 9:05 a.m. — Two vehicles were keyed.

Vandalism at the unit block of Kathmere Road on 3/28 at 3:30 p.m. — Residence was egged.

Simple Assault at the Sunoco Gas Station (400 block of E. Township Line Road) on 3/29 at 4:53 p.m. — The manager reported that her employee was assaulted by her boyfriend while she was working. The assault was recorded on the store video camera.  

Vandalism at the unit block of Meadows Road on 3/29 at 7:54 a.m. — Vehicle window was smashed.
