Police Blotter: Student Finds Bomb Threat

The following information comes from the Haverford Township Police Department. If arrests or charges are mentioned, they do not indicate guilt or a conviction.

INCIDENTS:

Drug Equipment Violation at the 1200 block of West Chester Pike on 6/7 at 2:21 a.m. — While on patrol officers observed a white male crossing the street that appeared unsteady on his feet. The officer conducted a pedestrian stop and smelled a strong odor of alcoholic beverage coming from his person. The subject admitted to drinking alcohol and was patted down for officer safety. Andrew McDonald was in possession of drug paraphernalia. McDonald was arrested and charged.

Theft at Barnaby's (1900 block of Old West Chester Pike) on 6/8 at 2:31 p.m. — Wallet containing cash, driver's license and a debit card was stolen from the bar.

Bicycle Theft at the 600 block of Septa Line on 6/8 at 11:55 a.m.

Vandalism at the 600 block of Grand Avenue on 6/8 at 10:05 a.m. — Windshield wiper was broken off of the victim's vehicle.

Vandalism at the 200 block of Frederick Road on 6/8 at 3:14 p.m. — Vehicle window was shattered.

Theft at the 200 block of Heatherwood Road on 6/9 at 8:01 p.m. — A bucket of copper was stolen from a locked shed.

Vandalism at the 700 block of Merion Avenue on 6/9 at 6:58 a.m. — Victim reported that his vehicle was scratched and his tires were flattened.

Threats at Haverford Middle School (1800 block of Darby Road) on 6/9 at 2:27 p.m. — A student located a bomb threat in the bathroom of the middle school. The school was searched by school personnel before students arrived the day of the threat. 

Fraud at the 3200 block of Darby Road on 6/10 at 11:23 a.m. — Victim reported that his online credit card account was compromised and that he is missing rewards points. The cash value of the loss is an estimated $12,000.

Theft at the 7700 block of Parkview Drive on 6/11 at 3:27 p.m. — Officers observed a male searching for something near a wooded area. The subject stated that he was delivering packages and one of the packages was not in his route so he hid it in the woods to deliver after hours.  The officer spoke to his supervisor and he stated he did not follow the company polices and it seems he was attempting to steal the package.

Theft at the unit block of Claremont Avenue on 6/11 at 2:19 a.m. — A cab driver reported that a white male exited his cab without paying his cab fare. 

Fraud at the 200 block of Campbell Avenue on 6/11 at 1:35 p.m. — Victim reported that a $2,000 check was cashed from his business account without his permission.

Vandalism at the Grange Field (800 block of Myrtle Avenue) on 6/11 at 11:24 a.m. — Graffiti was reported at the above location. 

Weapons at the 900 block of E. Township Line Road on 6/11 at 7:35 p.m. — While conducting a vehicle stop the suspect admitted to the officer that he was driving with a suspended license. The suspect was allowed to leave the scene and his vehicle would be towed. Officers conducted a vehicle inventory and found numerous weapons, a portable police scanner and marijuana inside the vehicle.

Public Drunkenness at Applebees (1300 block of West Chester Pike) on 6/11 at 12:55 a.m. — The restaurant manager reported that a highly intoxicated male refused to pay his bill and leave. Timothy Maiale was unable to stand on his own and was transported to the hospital for treatment. Maiale, 22, 100 block of Bryn Mawr Avenue, Newtown Square, was cited for public drunkenness and disorderly conduct.   

Aggravated Assault at the 100 block of E. Eagle Road on 6/12 at 9:14 p.m. — Victim reported that her husband grabbed her wrists during an argument over text messages.  The victim was transported to the hospital to treat her injuries. Troy Smith was arrested and charged.  

Theft at the 300 block of Francis Drive on 6/12 at 8:43 p.m. — $1,000 worth of copper pipes were stolen from the victim's driveway.

Vandalism at the 300 block of E. Manoa Road on 6/12 at 4:37 p.m. — Side view mirror was broken on the victim's truck.

Disorderly Conduct at JD McGillicydy's (unit block of Brookline Boulevard) on 6/12 at 1:53 a.m. — Kellie Panaccio, 25, 300 block of Walnut Street, Clifton Heights, John Seefeldt, 25, 300 block of Kathmere Road, Havertown,  Rebecca Seefeldt, 24, 300 block of Kathmere Road, Havertown and Christopher Wigo, 25, 1200 block of Old Lane, Drexel Hill were cited for disorderly conduct for fighting in a bar.

Disorderly Conduct at Barnaby's (1900 block of Old West Chester Pike) on 6/12 at 1:25 a.m. — An officer was dispatched to the above location for a disgruntled customer. A suspect stood in the flowerbed and took a stool off of the deck and smashed it into the parking lot. Marquis Mosley, 26, 200 block of Greenfield Terrace, Ardmore, was cited for disorderly conduct and public drunkenness.

Burglary (forced entry) at Mind Your Skin (2000 block of West Chester Pike) on 6/13 at 8:20 a.m. — Office manager reported that someone entered a secure closet and stole money from the cash box. Police observed pry marks on the door. While on location the Doctor from the neighboring suite reported that his office was also broken into and the cash box was stolen.

Bicycle Theft at the 1600 block of Woodmere Way on 6/13 at 6:28 p.m.

Simple Assault at the 200 block of Sagamore Road on 6/13 at 10:56 a.m. — Officers were dispatched to the above location for a fight. Upon arrival officers spoke to the victim who reported that the suspect attacked her and bit her finger. Medics arrived at the scene to treat the victim.

Identity Theft at Haverford Hills (400 block of Glendale Road) on 6/14 at 2:25 p.m. — Victim reported that an unauthorized person attempted to open a credit card account using his identity.

Vandalism at the 2600 block of Darby Road on 6/14 at 7:08 a.m. — Vehicle was egged.

Disorderly Conduct at the 100 block of Harvard Road on 6/14 at 4:56 p.m. — Officers were dispatched to the above location for crude acts being performed in public. Corey Lynn Carchidi, 23, 100 block of Lincoln Avenue, Havertown, Charles Chico Gattis, 19, 1100 block of 63rd Street, Philadelphia, Kaleaf Zaib Hashim Wiggins, 22, 1100 block of 63rd Street, Philadelphia, and Naheem Hershal Hashim Wiggins, 20, 1100 block of 63rd Street, Philadelphia were all cited for disorderly conduct and released.
