Police Blotter: Police Respond To Child Abuse

Police also respond to a bar fight, according to the blotter.

The following information comes from the Haverford Township Police Department.

INCIDENTS:

Theft at the 400 block of Pilgrim Lane on 5/18 at 1:29 p.m. — Doctor reported that his office was entered and a computer, MP3 player, pens, diabetes medication and supplies were stolen.

Theft at the 1400 block of Delmont Avenue on 5/19 at 10:06 p.m. — Officers responded for a report of a suspicious male looking into parked vehicles. Upon arrival officers observed a white male exit a mini van and flee the area. Officers gave chase until they lost visual on the subject. The owner of the vehicle did not believe that anything was stolen.  

Simple Assault at the Cantina Diablos (2300 block of Haverford Road) on 5/19 at 10:23 p.m. — Police responded to the bar for a fight. Upon arrival the victim stated that he was assaulted by two white males in the restroom and they fled the scene. The victim refused medical treatment for his injuries.

Burglary at Havertown Automotive (800 block of West Chester Pike) on 5/20 at 8:30 a.m. — Victim reports that an unknown person entered his business without his permission and stole 150 PA Inspection Stickers, 150 PA Emission Stickers and 20 PA Motorcycle Inspection Stickers.

Theft at the 1600 block of Delmont Avenue on 5/20 at 7:14 p.m. — Victim reports that an unknown person stole a Garmin GPS system, a cup separator, a GPS bracket and a work photo ID from his unlocked vehicle parked in his driveway.

Fraud at the 1000 block of Bon Air Road on 5/20 at 3:23 p.m. — Victim reports that an authorized person gained access to her debit card and made two purchases.

Narcotics at Haverford Senior High School (200 block of Mill Road) on 5/20 at 1:02 p.m. — officers responded to the high school for a student with marijuana on his person. While conducting a search of the student's school bag, a small bag of marijuana was found. The 15-year-old boy was arrested and charged.

Theft at the 200 block of Golf Hills Road on 5/21 at 10:56 a.m. — Victim reports that an unknown person entered his residence and stole jewelry out of the master bedroom.

Theft at the 700 block of College Avenue on 5/21 at 10:42 a.m. — Victim reports that an unknown person stole a painting from the wall in the dining room. The victim reports that numerous people such as a real estate agent, an appraiser and a maid were all in the house throughout the day.

Theft at the 600 block of West Lancaster Avenue on 5/21 at 12:40 p.m. — Victim reports that an unknown person stole 150 pounds of copper wire and pipes from the parking lot behind the ACME.

Simple Assault at the 100 block of Allgate Drive on 5/21 at 2:16 p.m. — Police responded to the above location for a report of child abuse. Witness states that they saw a man beat a child with a belt and force him into the residence. Police arrived and heard a child saying, “Help me.” Offender came out of the residence with a belt wrapped around his hand and stated that he was allowed to hit his son. Large red marks were seen on the victim's legs and back. Henry Burk Fitzpatrick IV was arrested and charged.

Vandalism at the 500 block of Washington Avenue on 5/21 at 7:40 a.m. — Victim reports that sometime overnight an unknown person damaged his flowerbed.

Vandalism at the 300 block of Twin Oaks Drive on 5/21 at 7:18 p.m. — Victim reports a group of juveniles damaged his fence while running through his yard. Juveniles were located and their parents stated that they would work out the problems with the fence.

Theft at the unit block of Llandillo Road on 5/22 at 7:35 a.m. — Victim reports that an unknown person entered his unsecured vehicles and stole a silver clipped rope earring, approximately $3 in quarters, a GPS system, and an unknown amount of change in the center console.

Theft at the 100 block of Brentwood Road on 5/22 at 10:56 a.m. — Victim reports that unknown person entered his unsecure vehicle parked in his driveway and stole a GPS unit, a cell phone charger, and a lug wrench key from his vehicle.

Theft at the 100 block of Wyndmoor Road on 5/22 at 11:45 a.m. — Victim reports that sometime overnight an unknown person stole a JVC in dash radio system out of her dashboard. The victim states that she locked her vehicle. There were no signs of forced entry on the vehicle.

Theft at the 200 block of Kenmore Road on 5/22 at 12:13 p.m. — Victim reports that sometime overnight an unknown person smashed the passenger side window of her vehicle and stole a JVC in dash radio and a softball equipment bag containing a helmet and glove.

Theft at the Haverford Township Free Library (1600 block of Darby Road) on 5/22 at 12:38 p.m. — Victim reports that a customer of the library stole several DVD's from the second floor of the library. 

Theft at the 300 block of Oxford Road on 5/22 at 12:02 p.m. — Victim reports that sometime overnight an unknown person entered her unlocked vehicle and stole an iPod and an unknown amount of loose change.

Theft at the 400 block of Heatherwood Road on 5/22 at 12:16 p.m. — Victim reports that an unknown person entered his vehicle sometime during the overnight and stole $3 in change out of his console. Victim stated that he was unsure if his vehicle was locked but that he had power tools in the back of his vehicle and they were not touched.

Theft at the 300 block of Oxford Road on 5/22 at 12:25 p.m. — Victim reports that sometime during the overnight, unknown people entered both of his unsecured vehicles and stole loose change.

Vandalism at Twin Oaks and Manoa Roads on 5/22 at 10:49 a.m. — Victim reports that sometime during the overnight an unknown person smashed the windshield of his vehicle.

Fraud at the 800 block of Martin Avenue on 5/23 at 11:15 a.m. — Victim reports that an unknown person gained access to her checking account and made purchases without her permission.

Criminal Mischief at the 100 block of Sycamore Road on 5/23 at 7:14 p.m. — Victim reports that an unknown person poured yellow enamel paint on the hoods and windshields of both of his vehicles parked in his driveway. The damage to each vehicle was extensive and an estimated cost of $10,000.00. 

Criminal Mischief at the Bubblegum Factory (800 block of N. Eagle Road) on 5/23 at 4:15 p.m. — While on patrol, the defendant was seen by an officer spraying a 24-by-24 red square with spray paint on to the wall at the above location. Defendant was taken into custody. His backpack was searched and contained numerous spray paint cans, stencils, markers, and a gas mask. Charles Chen, 19, unit block of Jaclyn Drive, Havertown, was cited for criminal mischief and released.

Vandalism at the unit block of Campbell Avenue on 5/23 at 9:40 a.m. — Victim reports that an unknown person removed a lamppost from her front yard.

Narcotics at the 1100 block of West Chester Pike on 5/23 at 11:42 p.m. — While on patrol at the above location, an officer stopped a vehicle for operating without functioning headlights and taillights. The officer detected an odor of alcoholic beverage emanating from the defendant. The defendant gave the officer false identification and during a routine search of her pocketbook, narcotics were found. Paige Jellison was arrested and charged.
