Police Blotter: Police Make Various Drug Arrests, Found Stolen Items

The following information comes from the Haverford Township Police Department. If arrests or charges are mentioned, they do not indicate guilt or a conviction.

INCIDENTS:

Theft at the Hollow Run Apartments (1900 block of West Chester Pike) on 10/4 at 7:57 a.m. — An unknown person smashed the victim's vehicle window and stole her GPS and video camera.

Theft at the Hollow Run Apartments on 10/4 at 7:57 a.m. — While handling the above incident, officers noticed another vehicle window had been smashed in. A Blackberry and GPS were stolen. 

Fraud at the 300 block of Strathmore Road on 10/4 at 2:02 p.m. — Victim reported that someone made fraudulent charges on her debit card.

Vandalism at the 400 block of Llanerch Avenue on 10/5 at 8:11 p.m. — Storm door glass was shattered.

Narcotics at Juniper Road and Foster Avenue on 10/5 at 11:03 p.m. — While on patrol officers observed a white male operating a minicycle in a reckless manner. The officer activated his lights and the subject attempted to elude police. The driver, Daniel Curran, was in possession of seven baggies of marijuana and was arrested and charged. 

Drug Equipment Violations at the 1300 block of West Chester Pike on 10/5 at 10:49 p.m. — While conducting a vehicle stop officer's observed a needle cap under the driver seat. The three occupants were removed from the vehicle due to previous encounters with narcotics. James Milligan, 40, 700 block of Burmont Road, Drexel Hill was in possession of vodka and was cited for restrictions of alcoholic beverage.  The driver, Brian Mininno, had glazed over eyes and needle marks on his arms. Officers located a crack pipe; needles and zip lock back with white powder in the vehicle. Minninno was arrested and charged

Disorderly Conduct at the Skatium (1000 block of Darby Road) on 10/6 at 3:07 p.m. — A 15-year-old white male, was cited for disorderly conduct for urinating behind the Skatium.

Bicycle Theft at the 800 block of Cricket Road on 10/7 at 7:38 a.m.

Identity Theft at the 500 block of Mill Road on 10/7 at 3:33 p.m. — Victim reported that unknown persons opened two credit card accounts using her identity and made multiple purchases.

Vandalism at the 1200 block of Darby Road on 10/7 at 10:40 p.m. — A screen door was damaged.  

Narcotics at Veteran's Park (1000 block of Darby Road) on 10/7 at 7:59 p.m. — While on patrol officer's observed Jacob McCracken loitering in the park after dusk. McCracken, 19, 6900 block of Clinton Road, Upper Darby, was in possession of marijuana and was arrested and charged. 

Retail Theft at Kohl's (200 block of West Chester Pike) on 10/7 at 8:28 p.m. — A white 16-year-old male was cited for disorderly conduct for the retail theft of $18 and another white 16-year-old male was cited for disorderly conduct for the retail theft of $25 worth of merchandise. 

Public Drunkenness at the 100 block of Glendale Road on 10/7 at 2:50 a.m. — Officers responded to the above location for a possible burglary in progress. Upon arrival officers observed a highly intoxicated white male leaving the area without shoes. Officers observed the garage door was half way opened and located the subject’s shoes. The garage had been rummaged through but nothing appeared to be missing. Ryan Gillespie, 22, unit block of W. Manoa Road, was cited for public drunkenness and trespassing.   

Public Drunkenness at the 1300 block of Beverly Road on 10/8 at 2:48 a.m. — While on patrol officers observed a white male lying in the middle of the roadway. Upon approaching the male the officer detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from his person. Brandon Billingsley, 23, 200 block of Hirst Avenue, Lansdowne, was cited for public drunkenness. 

Criminal Mischief at the 400 block of Sagamore Road on 10/9 at 2:25 p.m. — An unknown person scratched both side of the victim's vehicle.

Vandalism at the 100 block of Glen Arbor Road on 10/9 at 7:14 a.m. — A residence was egged.

Public Drunkenness at the unit block of E. Eagle Road on 10/9 at 6:03 p.m. — An officer were dispatched to the above location for a highly intoxicated male passed out, leaning on a vehicle. Upon arrival officers observed Michael Ciarkowski semi conscious, leaning on his vehicle. Ciarkowski, 38, 1100 block of Lindale Avenue, Drexel Hill, was cited for public drunkenness. 

Theft at the 1800 block of W. Darby Road on 10/10 at 3:01 p.m. — Victim reported that a person known to him stole his laptop computer from his desk.

Theft at Iacobucci (100 block of W. Eagle Road) on 10/10 at 4:37 p.m. — Store employee reported that an individual rented a tuxedo in August and failed to return it after many attempted contacts. When the suspect rented the tux he paid with a check and it bounced.

Bicycle Theft at Chestnutwald (600 block of Loraine Street) on 10/10 at 3:49 p.m.  

Vandalism at the Manoa Shopping Center (1300 block of West Chester Pike) on 10/10 at 4:29 p.m. — Vehicle tire was slashed. 

Theft at the 100 block of Fairlamb Avenue on 10/11 at 9:14 a.m. — Unlocked vehicle was entered — Five pair of sunglasses were stolen. Cleared by Nguyen arrest.

Theft at the 300 block of Fairlamb Avenue on 10/11 at 6:26 p.m. — Victim reported that two of his vehicles were entered — Sunglasses and a wallet containing cash and identification were stolen. Cleared by Nguyen arrest.

Theft at the 300 block of Fairlamb Avenue on 10/11 at 8:30 p.m. — Vehicle was entered — iPod was stolen. Cleared by Nguyen arrest.

Theft at the 1500 block of Ashton Road on 10/11 at 6:56 p.m. — Officers reported to the above residence to arrest Hieu Ba Nguyen on a warrant. Upon entering his bedroom, officers observed a brown bag with GPS receivers, phone chargers, glasses and other items.  The officer was aware of thefts from vehicles that occurred and questioned the subject. Nguyen admitted to the thefts from 12 vehicles and was arrested and charged. 

Theft at Main Line Gastroenterologist (2000 block of Darby Road) on 10/11 at 8:10 a.m. — An employee reported that $25 was stolen from the lockbox and a private office was entered and another bag of cash was stolen from a lock box. 

Theft at Saint Raphaela (600 block of Coopertown Road) on 10/11 at 9:25 a.m. — An employee from a roofing company reported that seven rolls of copper sheeting and 1,000 pounds of copper scrap were stolen from an unsecured job site.

Theft at the 300 block of Ivy Rock Lane on 10/11 at 8:30 p.m. — Vehicle was entered — wallet was stolen. Cleared by Nguyen arrest.

Theft at the 100 block of Fairlamb Avenue on 10/11 at 8:30 p.m. — Vehicle was entered — GPS was stolen. Cleared by Nguyen arrest.

Bicycle Theft at the 600 block of Washington Avenue on 10/11 at 8:25 a.m.

Vandalism at the 600 block of Merion Avenue on 10/11 at 10:21 a.m. — Residence was egged.

Narcotics at E. Westwood Park Drive and Willowbrook Road on 10/11 at 2:42 p.m. — While on patrol officer's observed a vehicle with expired registration. As the officer approached the vehicle the driver attempted to conceal an unknown item. The driver, Thomas Tavani, was in possession of 10 bags of heroin and was arrested and charged.
