Police Blotter: Police Find Admitted Burglar In Closet

INCIDENTS

Burglary (forced entry) at the unit block of Sycamore Road on a 1/4 at 11:03 a.m. — Police responded to a burglary in progress. Police searched the residence and discovered a white male, later identified as Thomas Petrillo, inside a second-floor closet. Petrillo admitted to entering the residence on two separate occasions and took large containers with assorted U.S. coins. Petrillo was arrested and charged.

Criminal Mischief at the 600 block of Ashurst Road on 1/4 at 9:08 a.m. — Someone punctured the victim’s vehicle tire.

Theft at Haverford College (300 block of W. Lancaster Avenue) on 1/6 at 3:47 p.m. — A wallet containing cash, gift cards, driver’s license and debit card was stolen from an unattended locker.

Theft at the 500 block of Central Avenue on 1/6 at 5:52 p.m. — Victim reported that a person known to him stole $100, a necklace and a video game console and games.

Fraud at the 800 block of W. Darby Road on 1/6 at 1:42 p.m. — An unknown person made numerous purchases with the victim’s business check card without his permission or knowledge.

Identity Theft at the 500 block of Achille Road on 1/6 at 4:56 p.m. — An unknown person opened a credit card account using the victim's identity.

Vandalism at Manor and Darby Roads on 1/6 at 5:45 p.m. — Vehicle was egged. 

Vandalism at Hazelwood and Rising Sun Roads on 1/7 at 1:23 p.m. — Vehicle was keyed and the windshield wiper was ripped off of the victim’s vehicle.  

Theft at the United Presbyterian Church (100 block of N. Eagle Road) on 1/8 at 12:39 p.m. — Robert Cruz-Chappell stole a wallet from an unattended purse. He removed the cash and discarded the wallet and credit cards in a storage closet in the church. Cruz-Chappell was arrested and charged. 

Vandalism at the 600 block of Furlong Avenue on 1/8 at 8:22 a.m. — Driver side mirror of the victim's vehicle was broken off.

Burglary at the 100 block of W. Township Line Road on 1/9 at 9:27 a.m. — The project manager at the quarry reported that he found both outer and inner gates open and the locks missing. The trailer had also been forced open and a microwave and copier were stolen.

Vandalism at the 100 block of Charles Drive on 1/9 at 6:44 p.m. — Christmas lights were cut.

Burglary (forced entry) at Pets First Veterinary Center (900 block of Haverford Road) on 1/10 at 7:24 a.m. — Unknown subjects entered the property and removed a drug cabinet, laptop and cash from the cash box.

Criminal Mischief at the 100 block of Sycamore Road on 1/10 at 12:25 a.m. — A white 15-year-old female was cited for criminal mischief for breaking a window during a domestic argument.
