Police Blotter: Officers Encounter Lots of Public Drunkenness

INCIDENTS:

Retail Theft at 7—11 (100 block of W. Eagle Road) on 4/6 at 3:25 p.m. — Joseph Moore, 24, unit block of Yale Road, was cited with disorderly conduct for the retail theft of candy bars.

Theft at the 1300 block of Delmont Avenue on 4/7 at 7:10 p.m. — A ladder and power washer were stolen.

Theft at the 1300 block of Delmont Avenue on 4/7 at 7:00 a.m. — A ladder and brush hog were stolen from behind the victim’s shed.

Retail Theft at Kohl's (200 block of West Chester Pike) on 4/8 at 5:06 p.m. — Alison Patricia Vettese, 42, 1100 block of Roosevelt Drive, was cited for the retail theft of $70 worth of merchandise.

Narcotics at Haverford Hills (400 block of Glendale Road) on 4/8 at 11:30 p.m. — While on patrol the officer observed a white male that was known to him from previous domestic calls. The subject has an active PFA against him by his wife that lives at the above location. Due to the officer’s knowledge he conducted a pedestrian stop and the subject had blood shot eyes, slurred speech and was unsteady on his feet. Kevin Richard Ware was in possession of oxycodone and was arrested and charged.

Theft at LA Fitness (400 block of West Chester Pike) on 4/9 at 7:28 p.m. — Backpack containing cash, identification and credit cards was stolen from his locker.

Retail Theft at Wawa (1000 block of Darby Road) on 4/9 at 8:25 p.m. — A 14-year-old male was cited for the retail theft of a Kool Aid drink.

Liquor Law Violation at the Skatium (1000 block of Darby Road) on 4/9 at 8:54 p.m. — Officers were dispatched to an alcohol overdose. Upon arrival a 14-year-old female was seated on a bench vomiting. The juvenile was transported to the hospital for treatment and was cited for underage drinking. 

Public Drunkenness at the 500 block of Upland Road on 4/9 at 4:58 a.m. — While on patrol officers observed a white male staggering down the street. Officers conducted a pedestrian stop and observed that the subject was highly intoxicated to the point that he was a danger to himself and others. John Finnegan, 26, 2000 block of Laurel Road, was cited for public drunkenness. 

Disorderly Conduct at Haverford College (300 block of Lancaster Avenue on 4/9 at 3:26 p.m. — A male reported that a juvenile exposed himself to him while he was running at the track. A 14-year-old male was cited for disorderly conduct.

Simple Assault at the 600 block of Dayton Road on 4/10 at 12:15 p.m. — Officers were dispatched to the above location for a fight in the highway. Several males were arguing over relationship issues.   

Public Drunkenness at Haverford College (300 block of Lancaster Avenue) on 4/10 at 12:44 a.m. — Officers were dispatched for an alcohol overdose. Upon arrival officers observed a female passed out on the bathroom floor covered in vomit. Jessica Garner, 20, 100 block of N. Merion Avenue, Bryn Mawr, was transported to the hospital for treatment and cited for underage drinking and public drunkenness.

Theft at the 2700 block of Saint Mary's Road on 4/11 at 9:24 a.m. — $200 in coins was stolen from the victim's bedroom.

Vandalism at the 2700 block of Saint Mary's Road on 4/11 at 9:38 a.m. — Victim reported that his vehicle was keyed three weeks ago.

Vandalism at the 1400 block of Lawndale Road on 4/11 at 2:13 p.m. — A window in the back of the residence was broken.

Theft at the 300 block of Ivy Rock Road on 4/12 at 7:23 p.m. — Victim's purse was stolen from her residence by a person known to her.

Liquor Law Violation at the Rusty Nail (2500 block of Haverford Road) on 4/12 at 10:10 p.m. — While the officer was completing reports in the SEPTA Lot, he observed the defendant stumbling to his car and fall while attempting to get in. The defendant fled, officer caught up to him and the defendant admitted to drinking. Kevin Robert Gallagher, 18, 100 block of Treaty Road, Drexel Hill, was cited for Underage Drinking and Public Drunkenness.
