Police Blotter: Man Asking Homeowners For Work Charged For Drug Paraphernalia

INCIDENTS:

Fraud at the 500 block of Strathmore Road on 3/21 at 1:04 p.m. — Victim reported that an unknown person filed a fraudulent income tax return in his name.

Fraud at the 1500 block of Brierwood Road on 3/21 at 3:41 p.m. — An unknown person made multiple purchases using the victim's credit card without her permission or knowledge.

Vandalism at Karakung Field (1700 block of Karakung Drive) on 3/21 at 12:44 p.m. — Graffiti was observed on a sign.

Theft at the 100 block of Buck Lane on 0814 hours on 3/22 at 8:14 a.m. — Copper tubing and wire was stolen from an unsecured construction site.

Theft at the 1000 block of Darby Road on 3/23 at 4:23 p.m. — iPod was stolen from the victim's unattended backpack.

Vandalism at the 1200 block of Manor Road on 3/23 at 9:48 p.m. — Rear window was shattered.

Drug Equipment Violations at the 400 block of Earlington Road on 3/23 at 10:08 a.m. — Officers were dispatched for a suspicious male knocking on doors. Police observed the subject, Alan Bailey, and conducted a pedestrian stop. Bailey was attempting to make money by asking local homeowners if he could cut their grass. Bailey was in possession of drug paraphernalia and was arrested and charged.

Public Drunkenness at Preston Field (800 block of Martin Avenue) on 3/23 at 8:37 p.m. — Police observed a male walking unsteadily fall onto the grass. The subject, Carlos Mendoza, had dilated pupils and was sweating profusely. Mendoza, 47, 800 block of Rhawn Street, Philadelphia, was transported to the hospital for treatment and cited for public drunkenness.

Public Drunkenness at the 100 block of Shawnee Road on 3/24 at 3:28 a.m. — Police were dispatched to the above residence for a suspicious male knocking on their door. Police located the subject, Mark Doughty, at the scene. Doughty was highly intoxicated and thought he was at a friend’s house. Doughty, 22, 200 block of Warrior Road, was cited for public drunkenness and placed in custody to await sobriety. 

Burglary (no force) at the unit block of West Avenue on 3/27 at 7:26 p.m. — Playstation 3, iPad, iPod Touch, laptop and a duffle bag was stolen from the residence.

Theft at the 1600 block of Delmont Avenue on 3/27 at 7:12 p.m. — a decorative copper rain chain was stolen from the front of the residence.

Fraud at the 1100 block of Steel Road on 3/27 at 9:39 a.m. — Victim reported that an unknown person made multiple purchases using her credit card account without her permission or knowledge.

Identity Theft at the 2300 block of Belmont Avenue on 3/27 at 4:41 p.m. — Victim reported that someone used her social security number to file an income tax return.
