Police Blotter: Kid Walks In On Burglar

INCIDENTS:

Burglary (forced) at the 100 block of Farwood Road on 2/22 at 9:42 a.m. — The rear door was pried open — jewelry and watches were stolen from the bedroom.

Theft at the 100 block of Walnut Hill Drive on 2/22 at 9:49 a.m. — Victim reported that a package was delivered and left at her front door without the required signature. When she returned home the package was missing. 

Retail Theft at Super Fresh (1300 block of West Chester Pike) on 2/22 at 9:27 a.m. — Raymond S. Magness Jr., 25, 1200 block of Bon Air Road, was cited for disorderly conduct for the retail theft of $5.50 worth of merchandise.

Simple Assault at the 400 block of Heatherwood Road on 2/22 at 9:23 a.m. — Victim reported that a person known to her began to attack her in her residence. The suspect kicked and punched her causing a bruise.

Criminal Mischief at St. Denis School (300 block of E. Eagle Road) on 2/22 at 3:10 p.m. — Unknown person vandalized the science lab by rubbing chalk and oil on the desk and breaking the jaw of a skeletal mannequin.

Narcotics at Railroad and Preston Avenues on 2/22 at 11:41 p.m. —While on patrol officers encountered an overwhelming odor of burnt marijuana as he passed a pedestrian. The officer observed the subject, Sharif Givens, was smoking marijuana. Givens was arrested and charged. 

Identity Theft at the 100 block of Yale Road on 2/23 at 12:31 p.m. — Victim reported that unknown persons opened three credit card accounts using her identity. 

Liquor Law Violation at the 200 block of Glendale Road on 2/24 at 10:23 p.m. — Officers were dispatched to the above location for an underage drinking party. A white 16-year-old male, a 17-year-old white male and Alexis Re, 18, 1200 block of Ellston Road, were cited for underage drinking. A large group of juveniles fled the residence before police arrived.

Criminal Mischief at Chatham Park School (400 block of Allston Road) on 2/25 at 7:10 p.m. — Unknown juveniles ignited an aerosol can on the playground and fled the area.

Retail Theft at Kohl's (200 block of West Chester Pike) on 2/26 at 6:18 p.m. — Ly Yen Pham, a 33-year-old woman, 200 block of Kingston Road, Upper Darby, was cited for the retail theft of $59 worth of merchandise. 

Theft at the 500 block of Kathmere Road on 2/26 at 12:53 p.m. — Vehicle was egged and vehicle magnet was stolen.

Criminal Mischief at the 600 block of Lancaster Avenue on 2/26 at 4:58 p.m. — An unknown person threw a paving stone through the glass door of the business.

Burglary at the 2400 block of Linden Drive on 2/27 at 9:54 p.m. — A black male entered the residence through an unlocked rear door. The juvenile resident walked in and observed the subject on his cell phone in the living room. The subject stated he entered the house accidently and left the residence. It was later discovered that a jewelry box was rummaged through and rolled coins were stolen.  

Theft at Bethany Presbyterian (unit block of N. Concord Avenue) on 2/27 at 10:18 a.m. — A laptop was stolen from an unsecured office. 

Narcotics at 7-Eleven (2000 block of Haverford Road) on 2/27 at 1915 hours — While conducting a vehicle stop the officer observed a crack pipe and unmarked prescription pills in the vehicle. Michael A. Samango was arrested and charged.

Criminal Mischief at the 1400 block of Lawrence Road on 2/28 at 5:28 p.m. — Front bumper was damaged on the victim's vehicle.

Vandalism at the 100 block of Upland Road on 2/28 at 2:19 p.m. — Victim reported a crack in her windshield from a BB gun.
