Police Blotter: Heroin Found During Vehicle Investigation

INCIDENTS:  

Theft at Barnaby's (1900 block of West Chester Pike) on 11/9 at 8:05 p.m. — Victim reported that someone punched out his lock on his vehicle and stole his briefcase from his backseat. The briefcase contained cash, numerous credit cards, gun permit, wallet and driver's license.

Theft at Swiss Farms (1200 block of Township Line Road) on 11/9 at 8:26 p.m. — A black male stole two cartons of cigarettes and fled the store.

Counterfeiting at Haverford Senior High School (200 block of Mill Road) on 11/9 at 12:31 p.m. — A student attempted to purchase a drink in the cafeteria with a counterfeit $20 bill.

Drug Equipment Violations at McDonalds (1200 block of West Chester Pike) on 11/9 at 6:27 p.m. — While conducting a vehicle investigation it appeared as if the driver and passenger were under the influence of a controlled substance. The officer located a bag of heroin when the driver exited his vehicle. A vehicle search was conducted and officer also found eight hypodermic needles. Tony Eby, 23, was arrested and charged.

Burglary at the 100 block of Brentwood Road on 11/10 at 1:49 a.m. — Victim reported that her neighbor entered her residence and stole thousands of dollars worth of jewelry from her jewelry box. Her neighbor, Michael Iommie, 22, admitted to the theft and was arrested.

Theft at the unit block of Parkridge Drive on 11/10 at 12:55 p.m. — Unlocked vehicle was entered—loose change and a bottle of wine were stolen.

Criminal Mischief at the 600 block of Hirst Avenue on 11/10 at 11:22 a.m. — Victim reported that two hub caps on his van were broken.

Criminal Mischief at LA Fitness (400 block of West Chester Pike) on 11/10 at 12:12 p.m. — Locking mechanism was punched in — nothing appeared missing. 

Theft at Kohl's (200 block of West Chester Pike) on 11/11 at 8:07 p.m. — Unlocked vehicle was entered — Purse was stolen containing an iPad and two cell phones. A shopper found the purse in the parking lot. The iPad and one cell phone were recovered.

Theft at the 1400 block of Windsor Park Lane on 11/11 at 8:58 a.m. — Victim reported that a person known to her stole jewelry from her residence.

Theft at Kohl's on 11/11 at 7:40 p.m. — Victim reported that an unknown person made multiple purchases using two different credit card accounts totaling over $20,000 without her permission or knowledge.

Retail Theft at Kohl's on 11/11 at 7:40 p.m. — Two Hispanic males and two Hispanic females stole a watch and a pair of earring and fled the store. 

Burglary (no force) at the 100 block of Heatherwood Avenue on 11/12 at 3:51 p.m. — An unknown person entered their residence and stole an iPod touch, iPod, cordless drill, PlayStation and numerous games. The PlayStation system was located at a Game Stop. Investigation of ongoing.

Burglary (no force) at the 700 block of Georges Lane on 11/12 at 2:08 p.m. — An unknown person entered the residence with a spare key. A bottle of loose change totaling over $800 was stolen.

Retail Theft at Kohl's on 11/12 at 8:11 p.m. — Joseph McFadden, 31, 1500 block of Brierwood Road, was cited for the retail theft of $84 worth of merchandise.

Vandalism at the 2300 block of E. Darby Road on 11/12 at 2:21 a.m. — An unknown person smeared a yogurt type substance on the victim's vehicle and threw it at her bedroom window. 

Narcotics at the 400 block of Colfax Road on 11/13 at 12:58 p.m. — Police responded to the above location for a burglar alarm. Upon arrival, an unsecured and partially open rear door was located. During a check of the upstairs officers observed a strong odor of burnt marijuana. Upon entered the bedroom marijuana, cocaine and drug paraphernalia was located. Keith DiMaio, 41, was arrested and charged.

Liquor Law Violation at Haverford College (300 block of Lancaster Avenue) on 11/13 at 12:38 a.m. — Police responded to the Sports Center Building for an unwanted subject. Upon arrival officers observed an unresponsive male with a strong odor of alcohol coming from his person. Do to the high state of intoxication the male was transported to the hospital for treatment and will be cited for underage drinking. 

Liquor Law Violation at Haverford College (unit block of Hannum Drive) on 11/13 at 3:07 a.m. — Officers were dispatched for an intoxicated subject. Zachary Wolfe had a strong odor of alcoholic beverage on his person, was unsteady on his feet and his clothes were disheveled. Wolfe,19, unit block of Rabbit Run Road, was cited for underage drinking.

Burglary at Hilltop Field House (1300 block of Bon Air Terrace) on 11/14 at 2:54 p.m. — Window was shattered and the entrance door was unlocked. The metal awning cover appeared to have been tampered with in an attempt to gain entry. The kitchen was ransacked but nothing appeared missing.

Theft at Haverford College (300 block of Lancaster Avenue) on 11/14 at 6:36 p.m. — iPod was stolen from the locker room.

Theft at Haverford College (300 block of Lancaster Avenue) on 11/14 at 4:57 p.m. — Computer was stolen from the hallway of the victim's dorm.

Theft at Kenney's Plumbing Supply (400 block of Darby Road) on 11/14 at 9:56 a.m. — Two front windows of the business were broken and hood ornaments were stolen from five trucks.

Simple Assault at Wawa (1000 block of Darby Road) on 11/14 at 6:46 p.m. — Victim reported that he was the victim of an assault and he did not know who hit him. He was bleeding from a cut on his lip and transported to the hospital for treatment. Police viewed security video and were able to identify the subject involved with the fight and responded to his residence.  

Fraud at the 100 block of Ivy Rock Lane on 11/14 at 5:27 p.m. — An unknown person opened a "Pay Pal" account without the victim’s permission.

Theft at the 700 block of Cricket Avenue on 11/15 at 8:45 p.m. — Unlocked vehicle was entered — EZ Pass transponder and CD's were stolen.
