Police Blotter: Drunken Man Threatens Cops

INCIDENTS:

Theft at the Child Guidance Center (2000 block of Old West Chester Pike) on 3/28 at 1:40 p.m. — A lock box was forced open and $300 was stolen.

Theft at the 300 block of W. Lancaster Avenue on 3/29 at 4:20 p.m. — Victim reported that someone stole his school owned iPad while it was unattended in the library.

Theft at the 300 block of Greenbriar Lane on 3/29 at 7:47 a.m. — Unlocked vehicle was entered — glove box was ransacked and loose change was stolen.

Aggravated Assault at Leedom Road and Stump Lane on 3/30 at 1:24 p.m. — Police were dispatched for an intoxicated subject. Upon arrival officers located a white male staggering in the street. The subject, Joseph McDevitt, appeared to be under the influence of alcohol and controlled substances. McDevitt had several outstanding bench warrants for his arrest. While attempting to place him into the transport vehicle McDevitt spit in the officer's eye and made numerous threats. McDevitt was arrested and charged.   

Narcotics at the 100 block of Hastings Avenue on 3/30 at 2:41 p.m. — While serving a warrant the subject was in possession of a hypodermic needle and prescription pills. Arrest is pending.

Retail Theft at Wawa (1000 block of Darby Road) on 3/31 at 10:18 a.m. — A female stole $13 worth of merchandise and fled the store.

Retail Theft at Kohl's (200 block of West Chester Pike) on 3/31 at 7 p.m.—Latoya Brown, 23, 200 block of Melrose Avenue, Lansdowne, was cited for disorderly conduct for the retail theft of $24 worth of merchandise.

Simple Assault at the 1700 block of Earlington Road on 3/31 at 3:23 p.m.—Alyssa Altmark was arrested for scratching and striking her brother in the face during an argument.

Theft at the 1600 block of Surrey Lane on 4/1 at 6:21 p.m. — Vehicle was entered — Luis Vutton Purse, a hard drive and a child’s wallet was stolen.

Theft at the 1700 block of Ridgeway Road on 4/1 at 6:50 a.m. — A vehicle was entered — satellite radio and dog treats were stolen.

Theft at the 200 block of E. Marthart Avenue on 4/1 at 8:51 a.m. — Unlocked vehicle was entered — cell phone and camera were stolen.

Theft at the 300 block of Edgehill Drive on 4/1 at 9:22 a.m. — Unlocked vehicle was entered — CD's were stolen.

Theft at the 1700 block of Hawthorne Avenue on 4/1 at 09:03 a.m. — Unlocked vehicle was entered — an umbrella and folder was stolen.

Vandalism at the 1200 block of West Chester Pike on 4/1 at 9:09 a.m. — A large glass window was broken out of the bus stop structure.

Vandalism at the 300 block of Spring Road on 4/1 at 1 p.m. — Vehicle was keyed.

Liquor Law Violation at the 200 block of Greenbriar Road on 4/1 at 11:38 p.m. — Police were dispatched for two disorderly males knocking over trash cans. Officers located the subjects and conducted a pedestrian stop. Sean DeMarco, 18, 200 block of Wickford Road and Christopher Dougherty, 18, unit block of E. Mercer Avenue were emanating a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage and were cited for underage drinking.

Theft at Waterford Apartments (1900 block of Lawrence Road) on 4/2 at 7:16 a.m. — Victim reported that his work truck was forced open and various tools were stolen.  

Identity Theft at the 200 block of Strathmore Road on 4/2 at 1:36 p.m. — Victim reported that an unknown person opened a Direct TV account using his identity without his permission or knowledge.

Vandalism at the 1400 block of Johnson Road on 4/2 at 10:13 a.m. — The lining of the victim's pool was cut.

Bicycle Theft at Haverford College (300 block of Lancaster Avenue) on 4/3 at 4:32 p.m.

Theft at LA Fitness (400 block of West Chester Pike) on 4/3 at 10:13 p.m. — Unlocked vehicle was entered — a bag was stolen.

Motor Vehicle Theft (attempted) at U—Haul (unit block of E. Township Line Road) on 4/3 at 2:34 p.m. — The manager discovered a truck’s ignition had been drilled out.

Fraud at the 1500 block of Melrose Avenue on 4/3 at 3:59 p.m. — Victim reported that she contacted her bank when she lost her debit card. Unknown person had made multiple purchases with her card without her knowledge.

Vandalism at Chatham Glen Park (200 block of Juniper Road) on 4/3 at 10:37 a.m. — The storm drain cover was dropped into the drain and the bench was damaged.

Vandalism at the 1100 block of Garfield Road on 4/3 at 11:15 a.m. — Residence was egged.

Vandalism at the 400 block of Fairmont Road on 4/3 at 9 a.m. — Unknown juveniles threw a water bottle at a bedroom window, damaging the screen.
