Police Blotter: Bicyclist Shot By BB Gun

And a female student claims that another student bit her arm.

INCIDENTS:

Retail Theft at the 1300 block of West Chester Pike on 3/9 at 4:21 p.m. — Joseph J. Fosco, 51, was cited for the retail theft of $31 worth of merchandise.

Simple Assault at Golf and Leedom Roads on 3/9 at 3:26 p.m. — Victim reported that another student bit her arm while they were walking home from school.

Identity Theft at the 700 block of Preston Avenue on 3/9 at 2:25 p.m. — Victim reported that an unknown person opened a bank account and attempted to open two credit card accounts using her identity.

Burglary at the 600 block of Wynnewood Avenue on 3/10 at 4:36 p.m. — Victim reported that someone broke his basement window and entered his residence. Several collectable Matchbox cars, jewelry and a camera were stolen from an upstairs bedroom. A lawn mower was also stolen from the side of the residence.

Burglary at Haverford College (300 block of Lancaster Avenue) on 3/10 at 7:27 p.m. — Victim reported that cash was stolen from his locked dorm room.

Burglary at the 500 block of Wales Road on 3/10 at 1:31 p.m. — Victim reported that an unknown person entered his residence while he was sleeping through his kitchen door. The unknown person stole a package of DVD's and a box of breathing medication from his counter. The items were located in the victim's driveway. The victim also discovered that the door to his truck was opened, nothing appeared to be missing.     

Retail Theft at Kohl's (200 block of West Chester Pike) on 3/10 at 7:03 p.m. — Amy Gardner was arrested for the retail theft of $329 and a 16-year-old female was cited for the retail theft of $68. 

Theft at Washington Avenue and Shelbourne Road on 3/10 at 8 a.m. — While on patrol an officer observed a street sign was missing. The concrete post was still in place and did not appear to have been hit. The next day a resident reported that another sign was missing in that area. 

Fraud at Radio Shack (1300 block of West Chester Pike) on 3/10 at 3:49 p.m. — The store manager reported that a female purchased $344 worth of merchandise with a Visa card. The subject then attempted to purchase more items and the employee noticed the card looked to be fraudulent. The suspect grabbed the bag and fled the store.

Vandalism at McGarrity Moser (600 block of West Chester Pike) on 3/10 at 1:39 a.m. — Officers were dispatched for a report of a motion alarm. Upon arrival the business owner reported that a window in the garage had been shattered.

Liquor Law Violation at the 500 block of Wales Road on 3/10 at 1:43 a.m. — Officers were approached by a witness who observed a male attempting to enter a vehicles.  Officers located the subject in a nearby alley. Anthony Guenesso was highly intoxicated and was arrested and charged.

Simple Assault at Veterans Field (1000 block of Darby Road) on 3/12 at 6:20 p.m. — Victim reported that while riding his bike through the park he was shot with a BB gun. 

Fraud at the 700 block of Wynnewood Road on 3/12 at 3:05 p.m. — Victim reported that an unknown person attempted to make a purchase using her credit card information.

Vandalism at the 1400 block of Delmont Avenue on 3/12 at 2:07 a.m. — Residence and vehicle was egged.

Theft at the unit block of E. Benedict Avenue on 3/13 at 10:34 p.m. — Victim reported that a person known to them stole cash and jewelry from their bedroom.

Theft at the 2200 block of E. Darby Road on 3/13 at 1:19 p.m. — While on patrol officers were approached by a witness who observed a male peering into parked vehicles. Officers located the subject and he was in possession of a receipt that belonged to the victim of a theft. Patrick Francis McStravick admitted to stealing the wallet and to smoking marijuana and was arrested and charged.

Burglary at Beer Guys (1300 block of West Chester Pike) on 3/11 at 7:08 a.m. — An unknown person smashed the glass out of the side door and stole four cases of beer. Prior to burglary being reported an intoxicated male was taken into custody for public drunkenness. He was in possession of the stolen cases of beer and had a bloody hand. The subject was transported to the hospital for treatment and a warrant was issued for his arrest.   

Theft at the 700 block of Buck Lane on 3/11 at 4:30 p.m. — Victim reported that his cell phone was stolen from his residence by a person known to him. Police contacted the suspect and he denied stealing the phone. The phone was later discovered in the victim's mailbox.

Vandalism at the Beechwood Station (1400 block of Edgewood Road) on 3/13 at 3:19 p.m. — Two unknown juveniles spray painted the walls.

Theft at the 2500 block of Olcott Road on 3/12 at 11:40 a.m. — Unlocked vehicle was entered — an iPod, camera and a printer were stolen. 

Theft at Kindred Hospital (2000 block of Old West Chester Pike) on 3/14 at 12:28 p.m. — Victim reported that his wallet and diamond ring were stolen from his nightstand in his room.

Retail Theft at Kohl's on 3/14 at 2:20 p.m. — Nusrat Khan, 38, 500 block of Lawrence Road, was cited for the retail theft of $80 worth of merchandise.

Theft at Haverford College (300 block of Lancaster Avenue) on 3/14 at 9:23 p.m. — Victim reported that someone removed cash and her debit card from her unattended wallet.

Fraud at the unit block of Columbus Avenue on 3/14 at 2:54 p.m. — Victim reported that someone made an unauthorized withdraw from her checking account.

Narcotics at the 400 block of Olympic Avenue on 3/14 at 1:44 p.m. — Officers were dispatched for a suspicious vehicle. Upon arrival the officer made contact with the driver and immediately detected the smell of burnt marijuana. The driver seemed very nervous, shaky and would not look at the officer as he spoke. Richard Dormoi was arrested and charged.

Narcotics at Eagle Towers (2300 block of Darby Road) on 3/14 at 8:43 p.m. — While conducting a vehicle stop officers detected a strong odor of burnt marijuana. The backseat passenger attempted to flee as police approached the vehicle. The driver and passenger of the vehicle admitted to being in possession of marijuana. Steven Emas and Jake Riggs were arrested and charged.

Identity Theft at the 200 block of Walnut Hill Lane on 3/15 at 7:32 p.m. — Victim reported that a person opened a credit card account using her identity.
