Oakmont Fights Haverford House Fire

The fire is being investigated by the Haverford Township Police Investigations division, but at this time is not being deemed suspicious.

Oakmont Fire Company was called to 780 Millbrook Lane in the Haverford section of Haverford Township for a two-alarm fire in a home at 01:24 a.m. on Dec. 17.

The homeowner, who was alerted by their fire alarm system, went to a neighbor to call 911.

The paramedic arrived and reported a smoke condition on the 1st and 2nd floor with a fire in the basement. Crew from Oakmont's Engine-38 arrived and placed a 1 3/4 water line into service in the basement.

The fire did spread into the first and second floor through the interior walls, according to the fire company.

A special call was made for Ladder 35 (Brookline), Engine 56 (Manoa), Montco Engine 23 (Bryn Mawr), Rehab unit from Narberth Ambulance.
