Theft from cars, especially unlocked cars, is rampant in Haverford Township and other suburban municipalities. Here are recent reports of theft from cars.

  • On October 29 around 9:30 p.m. a man was spotted in someone's car in the 1200 block of West Chester Pike. Police arrived on scene and found the man who matched the description given by the car's owner. He was in possession of a plastic cup containing loose coins, a purse and a wallet. Police also found on him hypodermic needles, pills, methadone and a baggie containing a white powdery substance.
  • A laptop computer was reportedly stolen from an unlocked car at LA Fitness in the 400 block of West Chester Pike on October 23 around 6:30 p.m.
  • Loose change was taken from an unlocked car in the 400 block of Bryan Street on October 23.
  • A purse containing credit cards, checks, an iPhone and an iPod Touch were stolen from a car in the 200 block of Pine Ridge Road on October 29.
