Haverford Police: Diamond Ring Stolen from Hastings Avenue Home

Police say the ring was stolen by an acquaintance of the victim.

The following incidents were reported by the Haverford Township Police Department. Arrest does not suggest conviction.

Theft at the 600 block of Ellis Road on January 9 at 2:39 p.m. Victim discovered a diamond bracelet missing from a safe in her residence.

Theft at Haverford Arms Apartments (unit block of S. Eagle Road) on January 9 at 12:29 p.m. Unlocked vehicle was entered and a cell phone was stolen.

Vandalism at the unit block of E. Westwood Park Drive on January 9 at 5:11 p.m. Victim reported what appeared to be BB gun holes in two windows of her rental home that has been vacant for the past two weeks.

Burglary at the 200 block of Brookline Boulevard on January 11 at 11:52 p.m. Victim reported that an unknown person entered his residence when he was in bed and stole his wife's purse.

Burglary at the 1400 block of Johnson Road on January 11 at 7:35 p.m. Someone entered the residence and stole copper tubing and vandalized the gazebo in the yard.

Fraud at the 700 block of Loraine Street on January 12 at 11:25 p.m. An unknown person made multiple purchases using the victim's debit card without her permission or knowledge.

Criminal Mischief at the 3800 block of Darby Road on January 12 at 3:44 p.m. A garland and Christmas lights were cut.

Theft at the 2600 block of County Line Road on January 12 at 12:10 p.m. The hardtop to a Jeep Wrangler was stolen from the vehicle. The vehicle was parked on the street and tagged abandoned.

Simple Assault at the 100 block of E. Eagle Road on January 13 at 10:58 p.m. Police responded to the above location for a physical domestic. The victim reported that her husband struck her in the face twice with an open hand. Police observed a fresh injury on the victim's head. Police located her husband, Troy Smith, intoxicated in his bedroom. Smith was taken into custody and charged with simple assault.      

Vandalism at Kohl's on January 13 at 12:37 p.m. It appears someone kicked the victim’s vehicle and loosened up the side panel, knocking it out of place.   

Vandalism at the 100 block of David Drive on January 13 at 3:45 p.m. A side view mirror was damaged.

Public Drunkenness at the 700 block of West Chester Pike on January 13 at 2:10 a.m. Issac Onorato Romero Mera, 26, of the 700 block of West Chester Pike, was cited for public drunkenness.

Theft at the unit block of Hastings Avenue on January 14 at 3:19 p.m. A diamond engagement ring and a wedding bank were stolen from the victim's bedroom by a person known to her.

Vandalism at the unit block of W. Mercer Avenue on January 14 at 10:32 a.m. A vehicle tire was slashed.

Burglary - (no force) at the 1000 block of Larchmont Avenue on January 15 at 6:57 p.m. Unknown person entered the residence and stole a large amount of valuable jewelry.

Simple Assault at the 1000 block of West Chester Pike on January 15 at 9:46 p.m. Police responded to the above location for a domestic assault.

Vandalism at the 2900 block of Rising Sun Road on January 15 at 6:18 p.m. Vehicle tires were flat.

Narcotics at the 300 block of Kathmere Road on January 15 at 5:49 p.m. Police were dispatched to the above location for a white male unconscious in his vehicle. Upon arrival police located Daniel Pelicata sleeping in his vehicle. Pelicata did not show any signs of impairment but numerous pills were observed in the vehicle. Pelicata was arrested and charged.
