Businesses in adjacent buildings complained of smells on Tuesday.

A fire inside 582 West Lancaster Avenue in the Bryn Mawr section of Haverford Township may have an electrical origin.

The fire that has caused the temporary closure of Bryn Mawr Cleaners was discovered early Monday morning by a Lower Merion Police Officer. Fire fighters were dispatched around 1 a.m. that morning for the report of smoke in the area.

Bryn Mawr Ladder 23 and Oakmont Engine 38 arrived and placed water lines in service containing the fire to the stairway section of the building. Additional resources were called in for the safety of the firemen, according to the Oakmont Fire Department.
